Welcome to the website of DOMINO.


Established in 2007, DOMINO investigates the incorporation and break-up of nanoparticle clusters as well as crystalline solids using rotor-stator mixers. In addition, rotor-stator mixers are used for the creation of liquid – liquid dispersions.

Products containing nanoparticles in their formulation are finding increasing applications due to their unique properties including greater reactivity, strength and conductivity. Sunscreens, inks and paints, coatings, reinforced rubber products such as car tyres are some examples in current use. According to a report (The Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies) published in April 2008, nanotechnology-based consumer products are entering the market at a rate of 3-4 per week. 

BHR Group has been working in the area of nanoparticle and liquid-liquids dispersion for more than 15 years. We have published some aspects of the work we have undertaken. 


Our industrial consortium active in the area, DOMINO, aims to develop process design procedures based on the findings from the experimental and numerical modelling activities of the project, thereby enabling our members to increase the profitability of their processes.
